The route

The race starts at the ticket shop near the entrance to Daugbjerg Limestone Caves. Shortly after the start the route takes you through the wood between Daugbjerg and Mønsted. Here you will run on a scenic but narrow path on top of the Daugbjerg Limestone Caves. After the wood you will have a nice incline before going into the Daugbjerg Limestone Caves. Because of the low ceilings in the Limestone Caves, safety helmets will be handed out to the runners.  After a tour in the Caves you will run in direction Mønsted, through a wood area and back to the Mønsted Limestone Caves. An extremely scenic but physically hard trip around the open limestone mine and the lake and on top of the Mønsted Limestone Caves is followed by a stretch through the high and low-ceiling paths of the Mønsted Limestone Caves. After the underground part of the race there is a nice, final incline to the goal area. Full-marathon runners complete the route four times.
